The Grants and Consultancy Unit (GCU) of the Faculty of Social Science and Arts (FSSA) is under the office of the Dean. The Unit is mandated to liaise with the six departments in the FSSA to provide consultancy services to industry, government, research bodies and NGOs. The Unit will also work with the six departments to develop short courses in data analysis and software applications. In addition, the Unit is expected to liaise with the French Center to develop flexible but intensive proficiency courses in French and English Language targeted at industry practitioners and graduate students.

Naasignebe Kuunibe (PhD)
Dr Kuunibe is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, Vice – Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Arts and the Editorial Secretary of the Ghana Journal of Development Studies. He holds a PhD in Public Health, specializing in Health Economics and Health Financing, from the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, University of Heidelberg, Germany. He also holds a Master of Philosophy degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr Kuunibe has extensive knowledge in health programme evaluation, survey design, data management and analysis and has consulted for various organizations, including GIZ, the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) and has participated in assignments commissioned by AGRA, IUCN and NorthFin Ghana. Dr Kuunibe has published in renowned peer-reviewed journals on health impact evaluation, health services research, research methods and population health using data from many countries, including Ghana, Burkina Faso, Zambia, Tanzania and Yemen (for more information, visit https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=wV88eVcAAAAJ). Lea Anzagra (PhD)
Lea Anzagra is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Applied Statistics of the Faculty of Social Science and Arts. She holds a PhD and MSc. in Applied Statistics from the University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana. Prior to her post graduate studies, she held a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Lea has experience in data management and analysis and her research interest spans from Distribution Theory, Survival Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Non Parametric Statistics to the general application of statistics in the areas of Health and Law. Also, she has experience working with statistical softwares such as R, SAS, SPSS and Genstat among others. Adams Abdullai (PhD)
Adams Abdulai is a Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Simon Diedong University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), Ghana. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Zululand, South Africa. He also holds an MSc in Agricultural Economics from KNUST and a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Extension from UDS. Dr. Abdulai has extensive work experience in public, private and international non-governmental organizations and has served in various positions including a Research Scientist, Project Manager, Grants Coordinator, Management Information Systems Officer (MIS) and Technical Advisor. He has worked with Plan International Ghana, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), German Development Cooperation (GIZ) Ghana, WIENCO Ghana Limited, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), and the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Institute (STEPRI, CSIR) before joining SDD-UBIDS. He has extensive knowledge in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and resource mobilization. He has been involved in managing large-scale projects and grants. He has won several project grants as a Principal Investigator from the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), BUSAC Fund, WASCAL, and Energy Commission. Dr Abdulai has also been involved in Collaborative Research Projects funded by the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the Centre for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, and IFPRI, and have consulted for Plan International, GIZ-MOAP, YARO, and the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). He has published in renowned peer-reviewed journals and his research interest covers, microfinance, innovation economics, food security, applied economics, and development economics.

Joseph Akongbangre
Joseph Nyaaba Akongbangre is an Assistant Lecturer at SDD-Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies’ Department of Geography. He studied Environment and Resource Management at the University for Development Studies. He obtained his Master of Philosophy degree in 2017 with a thesis entitled: “Urban Transition of Wa from the 1980s to 2016, A GIS Perspective”. Prior to joining UBIDS, Joseph worked with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) Ghana as a Technical Advisor in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, where he led the development of Community Land use Plans Action Plans, District Geodatabase and Resource Maps, provided capacity building for District Planners, for the European Union Funded REACH Project in North-Western Ghana. Joseph also worked at the Rainforest Alliance as a Senior Associate, Monitoring and Evaluation for Ghana, Mapping Support for Western and Central Africa, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Officer for the USAID Feed-the-Future Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (Agar) project. Joseph has a decade of experience in developmental projects, serving in various roles in charge of GIS and/or Remote Sensing, Monitoring and Evaluation on projects implemented across Ghana’s Savannah and Forest landscapes. His research interests are centred on applying GIS and Remote sensing tools and methods in Urban Planning, Natural Resource Management and understanding Climate Change. Joseph has co-authored four peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter.
