Mr. Abdulai Suglo
Mr Abdulai Suglo is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and an alumnus of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Kumasi Polytechnic (K-Poly). He obtained a Bachelor of Commence degree from UCC and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance (MBA, Finance) from KNUST in 1999 and 2010 respectively. He also obtained a Diploma in Business Studies from Kumasi Polytechnic in 1993.
Mr Suglo played very pivotal role by leading a team to convert the Financial Management system of KNUST from manual to electronic. He also led the finance team to restructure the financial management system of Ayum Forest Products Ltd (AFPL) (formerly Mim Timbers) in 2001 after divestiture of the company.
As the foundation Director of Finance, he leads the restructuring of the University and he has twenty-two years’ experience in accounting and financial management practice both in the private and public sectors in Ghana. Prior to his appointment as Interim Director of Finance, Mr Suglo worked in KNUST as: College Accountant for College Engineering and College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Accountant for the Institute of Distance Learning and also Head of Students’ Section. Before his appointment at KNUST, Mr Suglo worked as Finance Manager for Ghana Aluminium Products (Ghanal), Tema, Area Accountant for Kinapharma Ltd and Accountant for Naja David Group.
Mr Suglo has vast grant management experience as he has managed several donor-funded projects for the European Union, DANIDA, Gates & Mirinda foundations, Welcome trust, African development Bank and the World Bank.
Mr Suglo is accredited with the training of several accountants in the country. He is a proud author of Financial Reporting and Corporate Reporting books.
Mr Suglo is a Senior Partner of AMS and Associates, a firm of Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants.
