The Directorate of University Relations (DUR) at Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) is responsible for managing the public image and communications of the University. The Directorate serves as the primary interface between the University and its stakeholders, including students, staff, the media, alumni, and the general public. Its core mission is to promote the University’s programmes, achievements, and activities while fostering strong, mutually beneficial relationships with external partners and communities.

Mr. Fidelis Tang Zimberi is an experienced Development Administrator with over two decades of service in university administration. He currently serves as the Director of University Relations at the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS). His administrative experience spans the management of student and staff records, providing strategic support to senior university leadership, and facilitating key university activities and promotions.

At SDD-UBIDS, Mr. Tang has been instrumental in increasing the University’s visibility and reputation through coordinated media engagements, strategic outreach, and enhancing the institution’s digital presence. Under his leadership, the Directorate of University Relations has successfully implemented communication strategies that promote student enrollment, enhance stakeholder engagement, and maintain a positive public image for the University. These include radio talks, content development, events management, and development of jingles.

Prior to joining SDD-UBIDS, Mr. Tang held various leadership roles at the then University for Development Studies (UDS), including Faculty Officer and Acting Faculty Officer for the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment. He has, also, served as Acting Faculty Officer of Faculty of Bioscience, Nyankpala Campus.  On several occasions, he has acted as the Campus Officer of Nyankpala Campus.  His expertise in managing faculty programmes, student records, and reporting structures played a pivotal role in supporting the institution’s goals.

Mr. Tang holds an MPhil in Development Management and a BA in Integrated Development Studies from UDS. His research interests in development planning, human resource management, and workplace safety are integral to his strategic role in the University Relations Directorate.

In this digital age, the DUR plays a crucial role in managing the University’s social media platforms and official website. This involves producing engaging content, sharing news updates, and maintaining active communication with the University Community and external audiences.

Marketing and Student Enrolment 

The Directorate supports the University’s enrollment drive by developing promotional materials and campaigns aimed at attracting prospective students. Outreach programmes to high schools, participation in education fairs, and production of audiovisual content all form part of this effort to showcase the University’s unique offerings.

Publications and Internal Communication

The Directorate is responsible for producing official publications, such as newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and event bulletins. It also manages internal communications within the University, keeping staff and students informed of important updates, achievements, and upcoming events.

Event Planning and Protocol

The Directorate oversees the organisation of major university events such as matriculation, graduation ceremonies, public lectures, and seminars. It ensures that these events are well-coordinated and in line with the University’s standards and protocols.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

DUR leads initiatives aimed at building strong partnerships with local communities, governmental bodies, industry, and other educational institutions. It actively engages with alumni and other stakeholders to promote a sense of loyalty and support for the University’s growth and development.

External Broadcasts and Advertisements

The Directorate works with media houses and advertising agencies to produce radio and television commercials, print advertisements, and other external broadcasts that promote the University’s programmes, research, and special projects to the wider audience.
