The Busia Institute for Rural and Democratic Development has donated copies of a Biography of Chief Simon Diedong Dombo to the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD UBIDS), Wa. The 286 donated books worth GHS20,000.00 were delivered to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Phillip Duku Osei in a short ceremony attended by delegations from both the Institute and the University.

Among the goals of the Busia institute is to help imbue in the youth exemplary traits that promote effective nation-building and one of the ways to achieve this objective is to highlight the works of great Ghanaians who gave their utmost for the motherland.

The book was written to chronicle the life and works of the late Chief Simon Diedong Dombo, the great Ghanaian after whom the university has been named. The delegation also took it as an opportunity to solicit the University to assist them in any way possible to promote the book so that as many people as possible may get to know about Chief Dombo and his exploits and to emulate his patriotic qualities.

The book has been duly assessed and approved by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) of the Ghana Education Service and will be made available at the University Libraries at the various Campuses in Wa, Ghana.
