The Office of Dean of Students on January 24, 2024 organised orientation for new student-leaders of the University at the new auditorium. These student-leaders were made up of SRC/NUGS, Hall of residence, Schools/Faculties and student leaders at the Departmental Associations levels.
The rationale was to equip them with knowledge and skills that will enable them function effectively in their respective roles. Hence, the orientation covered administrative procedures, public sector financial management, group dynamism and conflict resolution, among others.
Present to address the newly elected student-leaders were; representatives of the Registrar, Director of Finance and Ag. Director of Internal Audit. Also, present were the Director of University Relations, University Counsellor, Head of Procurement and Dr. Tobias Tsear, an expert in conflict resolution.
On behalf of the student-leaders, the SRC President, Mr. Hafiz Iddrisu, thanked the University Management and the Office of the Dean of Students for this initiative and expressed appreciation for the skills and knowledge imparted to them to enable them handle issues at the students front.
The orientation was Chaired by the Dean of Students, Dr. Paul B. Domanban. Professor Issaka Osumanu Kanton stood in for the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel K. Derbile.
