The Vice-Chancellor of the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), Professor Emmanuel Kanchebe Derbile, hosted the University’s sportsmen and women to a special dinner on March 13, 2025, at Blue Hills Hotel in recognition of their outstanding performance at the 2024 Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.

The event, held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, was attended by student-athletes, coaches, and University officials. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Issaka Kanton Osumanu who is also the Sports Chairman, stood in for the Vice-Chancellor and commended the athletes for their dedication, resilience, and remarkable achievements, particularly the bronze medal win in the Women’s Badminton and the commendable performances in other disciplines, including table tennis and volleyball.

Professor Kanton reiterated the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to supporting sports development at SDD-UBIDS, ensuring that athletes receive the necessary resources and encouragement to compete at the highest level. The dinner served as a moment of appreciation and motivation for the athletes, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence in both sports and academics.  Certificates and medals were presented to the athletes.
