The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) continues to make strides at the ongoing 2024 Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games, which commenced on January 3, 2025, and will conclude on January 18, 2025, at the University of Cape Coast. The competition features 16 participating universities competing in various sporting disciplines.
In the Badminton Doubles (Women) event, SDD-UBIDS proudly clinched a bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for the University in this year’s competition. Additionally, the University’s Badminton Teamwork event secured an impressive 4th place out of 8 participating universities.
Meanwhile, the University’s Table Tennis Singles team has successfully advanced to the quarterfinals, demonstrating strong prospects for further success. In volleyball, the Women’s Volleyball Team has also qualified for the quarterfinals, while the Men’s Volleyball Team faced elimination after a tough match.
In the Beach Volleyball category, both men’s and women’s teams are still actively competing, with hopes of progressing further in the competition. The Football (Men’s Team) concluded their campaign after elimination in the preliminary rounds. The much-anticipated Athletics events are yet to commence, and expectations remain high for strong performances from SDD-UBIDS athletes.
