Management has taken note of concerns raised by some final year students of the 2026 class whose names have not been included in the graduation list for the 2nd Congregation of the School of Law.
The final graduation list for the 2nd Congregation of the School of Law was approved by the Executive Committee of the Academic Board on June 18, 2026 and subsequently published in the graduation handbook.
Management of the University wishes to clarify that, in accordance with the University’s academic governance procedures, students qualify for graduation only after their results have been duly considered and approved by the Academic Board. Until such approval is granted, any draft or provisional compilation of names remains an internal working document intended solely for administrative processes. Such documents neither confer graduation status nor constitute official authorization for graduation.
Students are advised that only graduation lists formally approved by the Academic Board and subsequently published by the Office of the Registrar constitute the official graduation list.
Management of the University has noted the concerns expressed by some students and has decided on the following remedial actions:
- To convene an emergency Academic Board meeting to consider the results of the affected students.
- The list of those who will be found worthy of graduation would be published as a supplementary graduation list.
- Subsequently, in consultation with the Governing Council of the University, transcripts and certificates of those students who make it to the graduation list will be issued to them in time to enable those who want to enroll in the Pre Bar program to do so.
- Further to this, those who are interested in attending Congregation will be considered for the main Graduation in November 2026.
Management wishes to state that these strict protocols and administrative procedures for handling results and graduation are meant to protect the integrity of the degrees that our students are aspiring to obtain for a better future.
Management therefore assures all students that their welfare will always be our concern and look forward to their maximum cooperation.
