ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant first degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Applicants with Third Class degrees who have some work experience with the various Security Services e.g. Immigration, CEPS, GAF etc. may be considered on a case by case basis.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (BSC IN GOVERNANCE, MIGRATION AND SECURITY)

WASSCE or SSSCE holders who seek to apply for admission into the BSc in Governance, Migration and Security Programmes must hold at least C6 or D in all the three core and Elective subjects. Candidates should therefore possess at least credit passes in the following:

  1. Three core subjects (English Language, Mathematics (core), Integrated Science/Social Studies)
  2. Any three elective subjects such as General Arts, Science or Business Programmes.
  3. Should have an aggregate score of 26 or better, while WASSCE holders must have an aggregate score of 36 or better.
  4. HND and other Diploma applicants seeking admission into Degree Programmes should possess at least a:
  • Second Class Lower or better in related Programmes, who may be admitted into Level 200.
  • Third Class or Pass shall be considered for admission into Level 100.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (DIPLOMA IN GOVERNANCE, MIGRATION AND SECURITY)

To be admitted into the Diploma Programme, three credits passes in the applicant’s area of specialization (elective subjects) and at least two passes (D7, D or better) in English Language, Mathematics (core), Integrated Science/Social Studies in WASSCE/SSSCE are required. Any candidate without a pass in either English Language, or Mathematics (core) should consider applying through the matured route (i.e. the University Access Programme).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME (CERTIFICATE IN MIGRATION AND SECURITY)

To be admitted into the Certificate in Migration and Security Programme, applicants must have at least Four (4) passes including English language (compulsory), Mathematics (core), Integrated Science/Social Studies and other elective subjects in General Arts or Business Programmes only. SSCE applicants must obtain grades ranging from A to E whilst WASSCE applicants must have grades ranging from A1 to E8. Applicants who have work experience with the various Security Services, Ministries and Diplomatic Missions can be an added advantage.  Applicants with Ordinary Level Certificate (‘O’) Level Certificate) or their equivalent can also apply.

MATURED APPICANTS SEEKING TO PURSUE DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES:

  1. Applicants of SSSCE/WASSCE or GCE Ordinary and Advance certificates without five (5) passes can also apply through the mature route (Access Course). Mature Candidates must have attained at least 25 years of age and must show documentary evidence. This category must pass a written examination (in English Language and General Paper) to be conducted by the University and the Centre. Applicants who have work experience with the various Security Services have an added advantage.
  2. In addition, applicants must have at least a pass in any of the following:
  • SSSCE/WASSCE, core English Language, Mathematics and/Integrated Science/Social Studies as well as two electives in business and General Arts subjects.
  1. General Certificate Education (GCE) Candidates

Four G.C.E. “O” Level in any subjects including English language (compulsory), Mathematics (Core) and passes at GCE Advance Level in a relevant subject area (General Arts and Business subjects only.

MODE OF APPLICATION

All applicants seeking to pursue our Weekend Postgraduate and Undergraduate Programmes at the Centre for Migration, Security, and International Relations (CMSIR) of the Faculty of Public Policy and Governance (FPPG) for the 2024/2025 Academic Year admissions are required to use the admissions.ubids.edu.gh  The procedure for the online application process is as follows:

  1. Make a payment of GH₵ 205 (Two Hundred and Five Ghana Cedis) at GCB, ADB, Stanbic Bank, Fidelity Bank of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) branches throughout the country.
  2. The E-Voucher contains the PIN and Serial Number required in completing the online form.
