The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDDUBIDS), a public Tertiary Education Institution established by an Act of Parliament SDDUBIDS Act 2019 (Act 1001), located in the Upper West Regional Capital, Wa, Ghana, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancies:
FACULTY OF PLANNING AND LAND MANAGEMENT
AREAS OF SPECIALISATION REQUIRED
1. Facilities Management and Real Estate Finance/Investment.
2. Geo-Information and Land Management, Land Economy and Land Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A. PROFESSORS
A person seeking appointment as Professor must:
- Nationally and internationally be acknowledged as a teacher, scholar and innovator in his/her field with significant contribution to academic and industrial innovations, as well as contribution to the intellectual and professional reputation of his/her university;
- Have been appointed as professor in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
- Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
- Show evidence of capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
- Have a minimum of twenty-eight (28) publications in a recognized and reputable ranked peer reviewed journals and at least twelve (12) of which must have been published after promotion to the grade of Associate Professor;
- Have served at least three (3) years in the rank of Associate Professor in the institution the applicant is coming from;
- Evidence of industry experience and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
B. ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS
A person seeking appointment as Associate Professor must:
- Have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
- Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
- Show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research and industry –related innovations in the candidate’s subject area, as well as, contribution to the intellectual reputation of his/her University.
- Demonstrate capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publication;
- Have a minimum of sixteen (16) publications in recognized and ranked reputable peer reviewed journals and at least ten (10) of which must have been published after promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer grade;
- Have served at least three (3) years in the rank of Senior Lecturer in the institution the applicant is coming from;
- Provide evidence of other research/professional activity/products;
- Evidence of industry experience and Membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
C. SENIOR LECTURERS
A person seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must:
- Have been appointed as Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
- Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
- Have taught for a minimum of five (5) years as Lecturer in the institution where the applicant is coming from; and
- Have a minimum of six (6) publications in recognized and ranked reputable peer reviewed journals.
D. LECTURERS
A person seeking appointment as Lecturer must:
- Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
- Two/three publications will be an added advantage;
- Have some appreciable industrial experience or skill in Competency-Based Training (CBT); and
- Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added advantage.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of successful candidates shall include but not limited to: teaching, research, technology adaptation, innovation and publication; curriculum development; setting and marking of assignments and examination questions; invigilation of examinations; submitting of marked scripts and results; supervision of students project work, dissertation and theses; offering academic counseling to students, assisting in the administration of the department; supervision of students internships and industry visits; mentoring of junior colleagues, extension work and/or service to the University and the nation; and any other related duties assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or his/her representative.
