Admissions for PhD programmes in the Department of African and Endogenous Studies (DAES), FIDS, SDD-UBIDS are open to all prospective applicants who are interested in pursuing a career in, but not limited to, African development, international relations and diplomacy, local community and national development, and in building stronger institutions and cohesive societies. The two PhD programmes currently on offer are for a period of three years (3year-regular) each, with taught and seminar courses, which must be completed as required for the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the University.
