The Office of the Women’s Commissioner (WOCOM) on March 24, 2026, donated six dustbins to the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) to support efforts to improve sanitation and waste management on campus.
The donation forms part of a student-led initiative to promote responsible waste disposal and contribute to a cleaner learning environment.
Presenting the items, the Women’s Commissioner, Ms. Samsia Sayawu, said the gesture reflects a commitment to practical solutions that address sanitation challenges on campus. She noted that the provision of the dustbins would support ongoing efforts to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Registrar, Mr. Issah Ewutomah, an Assistant Registrar expressed appreciation to WOCOM for the contribution. He assured that the dustbins would be effectively utilised to enhance sanitation across the campus.
He further encouraged students and staff to take shared responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and also to make proper use of the dustbins provided.
The initiative highlights the role of student leadership in supporting the University’s commitment to environmental sustainability and a healthy campus environment.
