The University’s attention has been drawn to a publication by Upper West Media, on March 27, 2026, captioned “Wa: Students Alarmed over 45 Days Short Deadline to Pay Fees at UBIDS.” asking them to pay commitment fees within 45 days.
- The Management of the University wishes to state that the timeline and conditions for payment of fees for the weekend/distance programme were issued in error using the wrong template.
- The said admission letters have since been withdrawn and new ones issued to deserving candidates.
- In the new letters of admission, candidates are required to pay a commitment fee of One Thousand Ghana (GHS 1000.00) cedis within 60 days in receipt of admission.
- Candidates are also required to pay outstanding balances of the prescribed fees by 31st August, 2026, and to register for commencement of the Academic Year, which starts on 5th September, 2026.
- The University has an open-door policy and encourages media houses to consult on matters like this before going public.
- Any inconvenience caused is regrettable.
Thank you.
