The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) joined the Nandom Traditional Area in celebrating the Kakube Festival on November 24, 2024. Led by the Director of University Relations, a team of four representatives from the Directorates of Academic Affairs, Information Management Services, and University Relations participated in the lively cultural event to showcase the university’s academic programmes and activities.

Held under the auspices of the Nandom Traditional Council, the Kakube Festival celebrates the harvest season and promotes the cultural heritage of the people of Nandom. The festival features colourful traditional displays, drumming, and dancing and brings together stakeholders, including government officials, institutions, and community members.

During the festival, the SDD-UBIDS team interacted with students from various senior high schools, vocational schools, and senior high technical schools. The team presented the university’s diverse and innovative academic programs to the students, thereby igniting interest and facilitating discussions regarding the study opportunities available at the University. Flyers and brochures detailing admission opportunities and programmes were distributed, further enhancing the University’s outreach and enrolment drive.

The Kakube Festival provided a platform for the University to reinforce its role as a partner in the development of the Region, aligning with its mission of contributing to the socio-cultural and economic transformation of its communities.

SDD-UBIDS remains committed to engaging in and supporting cultural activities that reflect the rich heritage of the communities it serves, thereby affirming its dedication to regional integration and local economic development.
