The University hereby invites applications for suitably qualified persons for the vacancies below:

POSITIONS:
1. Two Hall Masters

1.1 QUALIFICATIONS, ATTRIBUTES, AND CONSIDERATIONS
A person seeking appointment as a Hall Master must:
i. Be a Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer;
ii. Show leadership, high-quality sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision, and professionalism in the discharge of his or her duties;
iii. Show evidence of capacity for continuous research and dissemination of knowledge in his or her field through technology transfer and publications;
iv. Be disciplined and demonstrate adherence to University regulations as a statutory body and MUST NOT have conducted himself/herself in a manner that has brought the name of the University into disrepute;
v. MUST be able to hold office for a period of three (3) years on terms and conditions approved by Council, before reaching the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years and may be eligible for reappointment of up to three (3) years only;
vi. A successful candidate should NOTE that he/she can be reassigned to any other job role to serve their unexpired term if the appointing authority deems it necessary in the interest of the University.

1.2 Functions as Hall Master
A successful candidate for the position of Hall Master shall be expected to perform the following functions:
1. He/she shall assist the Dean of Students in the execution of his mandate, especially in matters relating to students’ accommodation;
2. He/she shall in consultation with the Residence Committee see to the allocation of accommodation to students on merit;
3. He/she shall in consultation with the Residence Committee liaise with owners of private hostels in advancing the welfare of students in their quest for suitable and conducive accommodation;
4. He/she shall render services on Guidance and Counseling to students’ residents at the Halls;
5. He/she shall perform ANY OTHER duties assigned by the Dean of Students and or the Vice-Chancellor.
